Alvvays perform in The Current studio

Alvvays have been busy touring in support of their latest album, Antisocialites, and they recently played Salt Lake City and Denver, two cities they hadn't visited before. The band members were very pleased with the turnout. "I'm always overwhelmed by going somewhere we've never gone before and people showing up," says frontperson Molly Rankin. "We just played Salt Lake City and had no expectation of people coming to the show, and it was sold out or something to that effect. It was just a neat feeling."
In the Twin Cities to play at the First Avenue Mainroom, Alvvays — Rankin, together with Kerri Jen MacLellan on keys, Alec O'Hanley on guitar, Sheridan Riley drums and Brian Murphy on bass stopped at The Current for an in-studio session hosted by Mary Lucia.
In the session, Alvvays spoke a bit more about their experiences on tour, which animals they would chose as their unofficial mascot (there was a lot of support for a small antelope called a dik-dik), and pronouncing the word "bar" in a way that is pretty much the same way most Minnesotans pronounce the word.
