Tired of the same old Christmas tunes? Tune in to The Current on Christmas Eve and Day for a twist on the traditional holiday music. It's a Current Christmas.

You'll hear a refreshing mix of holiday music, from classic favorites to new takes on old standards. Deck the Halls with Dr. Dog; jingle all the way with James Brown; roast some chestnuts on an open fire with Run DMC and have a white Christmas with Weezer. Plus, you'll hear the the New Standards' holiday show at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 8 a.m. on Christmas morning.

If you hear what you think is a new holiday favorite for you, be sure to check The Current's playlist.

Meanwhile, here are a few more holiday treats for you:

•  Have a listen to Chance the Rapper's new holiday mixtape.

•  Read about how Prince spent "Another Lonely Christmas" in 1984.

•  Is this the happiest Christmas song ever? Science says it might be.

•  Take some time to vote for your favorite 10 songs of 2017 (ballot closes at midnight on Dec. 25).

Plus, don't miss these holiday favorites:

•  Watch video of Lydia Liza and Josiah Lemanski singing their updated "Baby It's Cold Outside" in The Current studio.

•  Create that hygge feeling with The Current's Yule Log: A festive video fireplace, with a vinyl spin.

•  And for holiday tunes that continue through Tuesday, Dec. 26, flip on our Rock the Cradle Radio stream for even more festive music, with a special nod to music for kids and grownups alike.

Happy holidays from all of us at The Current!
