Keith Richards has apologized to his Rolling Stones bandmate Mick Jagger for saying it's time for the 74-year-old father of eight to get "the snip."

Richards's remarks came in an interview for the Wall Street Journal Magazine. "Mick's a randy old bastard," said Richards about his fellow Glimmer Twin, who welcomed his eighth child just last year. "It's time for the snip — you can't be a father at that age. Those poor kids!"

After the interview was published, Richards issued a statement saying, "I deeply regret the comments I made about Mick in the WSJ which were completely out of line. I have of course apologized to him in person."

They'll have to patch things up if they're ever going to finish the Stones' next album, which Richards and other members of the band say is currently in progress. (Billboard)

Spotify announces IPO

In a watershed moment for the company that in many ways has defined the new era of streaming music, Spotify has filed to go public on the New York Stock Exchange. The New York Times calls it "one of the most anticipated technology stocks in years, and a sign of the maturation of the streaming market that has turned around the long-struggling music industry."

Paperwork for the stock offering included the most detailed accounting of the company's finances ever made available to the public. Last year Spotify had $5 billion in revenue, a 39% increase over the previous year...but it still suffered a $1.5 billion loss.

Send in the clones

Barbra Streisand has sold over 150 million copies of her albums and singles worldwide...and it turns out she's made some other copies as well.

In a recent interview with Variety, summarizes the New York Times, "Ms. Streisand revealed that two of her three Coton de Tulear dogs were clones. Specifically, the magazine reported that the dogs — Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett — had been cloned from cells taken from the mouth and stomach of Ms. Streisand's late dog Samantha, who was 14 when she died last year."

Adding some interesting data to the nature-nurture debate, Streisand says her two cloned dogs do have different personalities.

Lou Reed took a pass on MGMT collaboration

MGMT have revealed that they invited Lou Reed to contribute vocals to their 2010 song "Lady Dada's Nightmare." He demurred — and then also offered a piece of advice, telling the duo they didn't need managers, despite the fact that their managers were in the room at the time. (Pitchfork)

Spice Girls to attend royal wedding

The royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19 is gonna be lit. Not only is Sir Elton John rumored to be in attendance, Scary Spice has now confirmed that all five Spice Girls have received invitations to attend. When asked, in an interview for talk show The Real, whether the quintet might actually perform, Mel B bolted. "I'm going to get fired," she joked, if she said more. (BBC)
