Locals Hippo Campus bound back on to the Chart at #20 this week with the title track from their forthcoming 'Bambi' album. They'll be at The Super Big Block Party up in Duluth this weekend with Lissie and others.

Our Number One for the fifth week overall will also being playing at The Red Herring Lounge October 6th. This week they're down south gigging in Dallas, Austin, and Houston.

Making it a very strong week for locals, The Jayhawks return with a track originally written with The Dixie Chicks by band leader Gary Louris. They're also touring through the south this week: Nashville, Asheville, and Raleigh, but they recently announced two shows at First Ave Dec 21 & 22.

Childish Gambino is the biggest upward mover, nine places to #5. He just dropped an animated video which The Washington Post tried explaining, but why does Michellle Obama hug Kanye West?!

CHVRCHES are the highest new entry at eight with a little help from frontman for The National Matt Berninger who recently joined them on stage at Lollapalooza to sing it with them.

Brand new at #9 is another track from Janelle Monae's recent 'Dirty Computer'. She spent the Labor Day weekend with the people of Philidelphia at the 'Made In America' festival.

Leon Bridges is also back with another track from his 'Good Thing' album and he was at CBS this weekend. They did an extensive historical story on him, including videos of him singing at the White House and with The Muppets!

Muse announced that this recent single, new at #18 is going to be on an album called 'Simulation Theory' due November 9. Tour details for next year will apparently be unveiled shortly, meanwhile here's all NME knows.

Mitski jumps three places, a slow start after three weeks on, but she might get a bump this week while we celebrate 'Be The Cowboy' as our Album of the Week. Highly praised in media outlets on both sides of the big pond, our intrepid Mac Wilson goes as far as to compare it to The Beatles 'White Album', full of short songs that create entire worlds.

Amanda Shires will be in town tomorrow night, (Thurs) at The Fine Line, fresh off playing her biggest gig ever at Red Rocks with her hubby Jason Isbell.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to The Current's Leon Bridges giveaway at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul, MN on September 20, 2018!
