Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne has now been exposed to the strange magic of Mac Sabbath: a Black Sabbath cover band whose members dress like McDonald's mascots.

The meeting can now be seen on a previously unreleased clip from the show Ozzy & Jack's World Detour, co-starring Osbourne and his son Jack. They're joined by Jack's daughter Pearl for a private performance of "Iron Man," renamed "Frying Pan" (with BBQ pyrotechnics) when performed by Ronald Osbourne, Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, and the Cat Burglar. Iggy Pop producing documentary series about punk

Iggy Pop is producing a TV documentary series about the history of punk. The series, called simply Punk, is set to debut on the channel Epix next March. Guests slated to appear include Johnny Rotten (the Sex Pistols), Marky Ramone (the Ramones), Debbie Harry (Blondie), and Wayne Kramer (the MC5). Pop is co-producing the show with John Varvatos, whose store currently occupies the space that was formerly CBGB. In a statement, Varvatos said, "Hey! Ho! Let's go!" (NME)

NEA funds African-American music history timeline

The National Endowment for the Arts has announced a new round of 253 grants totaling $14.8 million. In addition to projects like animated videos explaining philosophy, grants are going to support an interactive African-American musical history timeline and a project to digitally capture and replicate the acoustics of an ancient Peruvian archaeological site — and a historic recording studio on Nashville's Music Row. The Darkness booked for Great British Bake Off

Theatrical rock band the Darkness have been booked to play one of the world's most popular TV shows: The Great British Bake Off. The baking competition reality show is broadcasting a holiday special on Dec. 25 in the U.K.; in addition to a battle for "Christmas Star Baker," the episode will feature the Darkness playing their 2003 single "Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End)."

The band have just released a new live recording of the song. In a statement, the band's frontman Justin Hawkins said, "As Santa prepares to empty his sack into our collective Christmas chimney, and young faces smeared with festive brandy butter gaze up expectantly, every day is a fun-filled festive frolic of presents and pies. Much as you will enjoy your turkey leftovers on Boxing Day, we are serving up 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)' again, this time in a tasty live sauce. Hooray, eh?" (NME, of course)

Beyoncé performed at a wedding in India. Wait, what?

If you've been following social media over the past couple of days, you may have seen some confusing mentions of Beyoncé, India, and a wedding. Wait, what? Does Bey do weddings?

Yes, if both the bride and the groom come from billionaire families. Beyoncé appeared in the lead-up to the wedding of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal this week, performing "Crazy in Love" and other hits. "Beyonce Lights Up Udaipur," read one local headline. As Billboard notes,

Over the weekend, thousands attended pre-wedding parties at a 16th century palace in the Indian desert city of Udaipur, where videos shot by partiers showed Hillary Clinton dancing with Shah Rukh Khan, one of India's biggest movie stars, as former Secretary of State John Kerry danced just a few feet away.

Indian weddings have always been elaborate, but the country's ultra-wealthy are getting increasingly elaborate in throwing lavish multi-day celebrations. That's why the wedding of Nick Jonas and Indian actor Priyanka Chopra seemed to go on forever.

Nick Cave criticizes calls for Israel boycott

Nick Cave has written an open letter to Brian Eno, defending his recent decision to play a show in Israel despite calls for a boycott. Musicians including Eno and, most notably, Roger Waters have been calling for artists to boycott Israel due to the country's treatment of Palestinians in the occupied territories. Some artists, most prominently Lorde, have in fact canceled or declined to schedule shows; Nick Cave is one of the best-known artists who defied the call for a boycott. In the new letter, he explains why.

Cave says, "I don't intend to engage in a detailed discussion as to how the boycott of Israel can be seen to be anti-Semitic at heart and, furthermore, does not work." Cave said he played the show as "a principled stand against those who wish to bully, shame and silence musicians," and pointed out that he's helped raise nearly $200,000 for the children of Palestine.
