DeM atlaS kicked off the day at 2:30 p.m. on the Main Stage. The Rhymesayers rapper energized the crowd with songs from his debut album, Bad Actress. He had hands in the air from his first song, the raucous "Tomorrow Party." Despite the heat, deM atlaS spun, jumped, and danced around the stage, where he was backed by a live drummer and DJ Keezy.

For "Music Man," deM was joined by special guest Lady Midnight. "She's a good friend of mine," deM atlaS said of the Minneapolis singer who recently released the album Death Before Mourning. "We have a lot of dope art in this city, don't we?" Watching the sun stretch over Spoonbridge and Cherry while the two artists' voices filled the air, it was hard to disagree.
