Lizzo returns to the top this week and will definitely be the most successful chart artist this year with a LOCAL connection, but Dessa has been inducted to our Chart Hall of Fame for the ninth time. That puts her at four on our All Time Hall of Fame Chart, the highest charting local artist ever! Next week will mark the tenth anniversary of the Chart Show and we'll celebrate by playing selections from the All Time HOF Chart and reposting it on the web. Meanwhile, this week sees the release of the record Dessa made with the MN Orchestra.

Spoiler alert... The Black Keys are Number One on the All-Time Chart and now as we prepare for their Target Center show on the 28th, we want to know which of their songs have stuck with you the most. There's a chance to win tickets to the show, meet the band or win a signed guitar.

Portland based all-female trio Joseph are the highest new entry, making it a majority of women artists on the chart this week. They just released their new album "Good Luck, Kid" and arrive early in their tour at First Avenue this Friday night.

While in town last weekend to play Surly, Of Monsters and Men stopped by to do an acoustic session with Mac Wilson.

Talking about Kanye, the Bible, taking paternity leave, and how Kimmel got in the lyrics of one of the songs on "The Big Day" - Chance The Rapper, down eight places this week, performed another song from the album on Kimmel this week.

Unfortunately with the recent passing of David Berman, of Silver Jews and Ric Ocasek of The Cars, we've been talking tributes on The Current, a lot. It's always interesting to see which artists come out to speak about their heroes or peers and what they say. But few take the time to write a song and release it as an official homage, but that's what First Aid Kit have done, in at #14.

Brittany Howard's new album is also a tribute, to her sister Jaime who died when they were both young. She's playing The Palace tomorrow night, the day before the album comes out and we can take you there by live streaming, at 8pm. The New York Times did a great job of featuring her in the bumper Fall Arts Preview last weekend.

Down seven places this week to seventeen, are Wilco, one of the first bands that we ever streamed live from The Palace Theater. They announced this week that they'll be back in November for three shows!

Record company plant or genuine You Tube 'break out from her bedroom' star, will Massachusetts based phenom Clairo become the new Billie Eilish or Cuco? Usually it depends on how well they can perform on stage. This week on Ellen DeGeneres' show was a big first step for the "Bags" singer who is new in our basement.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to see Bon Iver with Feist at the Xcel Energy Center on October 3, 2019.
