Rising to the top as fans tried to win tickets to the sold out Saturday show at The Palace, Wilco have booked three nights in the space again and there are tickets available for Sunday November 24. They played the first single from Ode To Joy on Seth Meyers this week.

Speaking of sold out, Pixies have lined up a string of shows for the next 5 months, many of which, like Sydney Opera House in March are venues they haven't played before and are already sold out. Unbelievably, this is the first time that they've been inducted to our Chart Hall of Fame, ending their stay at #2.

It appears that Wilco fans might also have a soft spot for Bon Iver, Beck and Black Keys who all go up bigly this week! Bon Iver and Black Keys will be inducted next week, for the tenth and thirteenth times respectively. And if Beck has some uneventful days ahead of him this winter he should come to Eaux Claires to join Justin and friends at HIVER.

"Every note is full of possibility, but also regret," says Jade about our Album of the Week All Mirrors from Angel Olsen, who slips down under the assault of the above clan of big names getting big ups. She's coming to First Ave next Tuesday and will join Mary Lucia live in studio that afternoon around 3pm.

Short stay at the top last week for Soccer Mommy, one of the acts that we had play for us last year at Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik. We'll be there again this year with another slate of promising new acts.

Although Charlie Parr has also slipped down five places this week, there's news of another sold out show November 21 - a solo set at The Cedar Cultural Center. But he's playing with his full band on the next night too.

Making her first ever appearance on our chart at #18 is veteran Liz Phair, back with a new album in the spring and 'Horror Stories' the first of two planned memoirs detailing her rise and fall during the indie rock boom of the nineties.

Speaking of old faves, now billed as "veteran rockers," Green Day crash in at nineteen with the first single from their 2020 album. Last weekend in Seville Spain, with Billie Joe looking suitably tanned, they headlined the European MTV Music Awards showcase, then took home the trophy for best rock band!

More old buds sneak into the basement space this week. Next year Weezer will join Green Day and Fall Out Boy on the 'Hella Mega' tour sponsored by... Harley-Davidson?! August 11th at Target Field.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to Elvis Costello and the Imposters at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, MN on November 23, 2019.
