Think of any photograph basically from the '60s to the '80s of every huge band you can think of — got it? Yeah, Jim Marshall probably took that photo.

Show Me The Picture: The Story of Jim Marshall is a new documentary from director Alfred George Bailey that details the life of a photographer who was truly iconic. Janis Joplin with a bottle of Southern Comfort? Jim Marshall. Johnny Cash giving the finger? Jim Marshall.

Marshall was able to capture the images he did because he respected and befriended the artists he worked with. He was also a troubled soul, but his story is incredble.

This film screened at SXSW to huge acclaim; we'll keep an eye on when it becomes available for streaming because it is a must see.
