Because the holidays fall on Wednesdays this year we'll take a two week break from brand new Chart Shows after this one and traditionally we add two weeks to everyone's score as if they stayed on the chart during the hiatus, which means a record EIGHT songs are inducted this week to our Hall of Fame for staying on the chart for ten weeks! Charlie Parr gets his first induction along with Nick Cave. Brittany Howard gets in solo for the second time, Polica, Wilco and Chance The Rapper get in for the sixth time and Beck for the 8th!

Holding on to the top spot cements Charlie Parr's position as most successful REAL local artist of the year. He ended up at #5 on the Top 10 of the Year behind three Lizzo tracks and Bon Iver!

It's Billie Eilish's birthday today, finally turning eighteen, and already inducted three times, what else can she wish for when she blows out the candles?! This week the NME made her album their Number One of the Year.

Doomtree's Dessa teaming up with our very own Minnesota Orchestra is the highest new entry of the week, which got on my Top 10, we need yours for the Top 89!

Maggie Rogers is back too, at #12, with the single released after she was listed as nominee for a Grammy for Best New Artist.

Drive-By Truckers are also back, brand new at 18, with the first single released from the new album which is coming January 31 and they've lined up three homecoming shows in February to kick off their tour.

Back with a banjo at nineteen is Mumford and Sons. They just released a new video for this single and they have a banjo designed especially for them for your stocking stuffers, I'm serious!

UK psych rockers Temples make their debut in the basement space, poised to start a US tour in D.C. January 20 which arrives at the 7th Street Entry on Saturday, February 1.

Top 10 of 2019

The first column is the number of weeks spent at Number One and the
TB (tie-breaker) column is the total of all their chart positions added up, therefore the lower the number the better.
