Many people think the song "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd was a direct tribute to Syd Barrett, but in the documentary The Story of Wish You Were Here, David Gilmour, who sings the lead vocal, describes the lyrics as being directed at himself as his lyrics often were.
