August 12, 2020

Today is International Youth Day, designated so by the UN General Assembly.

The 2020 theme of International Youth Day is "Youth Engagement for Global Action", which aims to shed light on the need to enable the engagement of youth by making local, national and global institutions more inclusive for the purpose of strengthening their capacity (and relevance) to achieve global action. Sounds good to us!

And hey - since we're on the topic - if you're a Minnesota teen in high school or about to start your first year of college and you want to share your music with us, The Local Show has a "back to school" episode coming up where Andrea Swensson will feature high school bands (in the past these episodes have featured bands like Bruise Violet, Bomba de Luz, and Loki's Folly). So submit your stuff!

But in the meantime...

For today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you hear that mention youth, being young, children, etc.?

Respond with your song ideas in the comments below.
