Both Elmore James and Bobby Bland were born on this day (in 1918 and 1930 respectively).

Elmore James was a blues guitarist singer, songwriter, and bandleader known as "the King of the Slide Guitar". Bobby "Blue" Bland was a blues singer who was described by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as "second in stature only to B.B. King as a product of Memphis's Beale Street blues scene".

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what blues songs and artists do you want to hear?

And since we have blues on the mind, if you missed Jill's Wellness conversation this morning with clinical psychologist Craig Sawchuk, consider giving it a listen. They dive into ways to fight seasonal affective disorder which might be all too important as we head into some of the coldest/darkest weeks of winter.
