Here at The Current, we constantly strive to serve you and the ways you listen in the best way possible. Honoring that commitment to bringing you the music you love, we're excited to announce the following changes to our weekly programming schedule.

Sunday mornings to feature Radio Heartland hour

Radio Heartland joins The Current's Sunday lineup starting on April 11. Mike Pengra's unique blend of Americana and folk music will lead our Sunday mornings, starting each week at 7 a.m. Central, to provide the perfect ramp-up into United States of Americana at 8 a.m., and to create a more consistent music experience for our loyal weekend listeners.

Friday night is new time for New Hot

The Current's specialty program dedicated to music discoveries, new artists and the latest releases, New Hot, moves to Fridays, 10 p.m. to midnight Central, starting April 16. Friday is the global album-release day, so New Hot is moving to align with the day when music fans are first hearing the newest albums of the week.

More time for your requests on Radio Free Current

The popular all-request program, Radio Free Current, will expand an additional hour, spanning 7 to 11 p.m. Central starting on April 17. Because of the increasing number of listener requests, we're able to stretch Radio Free Current an extra hour every Saturday evening making space for even more of the songs you want to hear.
