On Amy Winehouse's birthday, we remember her for her music and how she blended her deep vocals and an eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues, jazz, and reggae, to create her own special version of neo-soul. What distinguishes neo-soul from contemporary R&B is that it is less conventional and incorporates elements ranging from funk, jazz fusion, hip hop, and African music to pop, rock, and electronic music. Let's celebrate Amy and genre-blending in the way we do best - with music!
