More than 130 world leaders have gathered in Scotland for the start of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as Cop26.

Two weeks of climate discussions are designed to bring forth big ideas and negotiations about how to slow the intensifying global warming.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson of Britain spoke today, saying:

“The tragedy is that this is not a movie and the doomsday device is real. Humanity has long since run down the clock on climate change. It is one minute to midnight on that doomsday clock, and we need to act now.”

President Biden is expected to address the conference soon.
