Britney Spears is now free from her nearly 14-year conservatorship that started in 2008 when her father petitioned the courts for control over her life and finances. On Friday, Judge Brenda Penny of Los Angeles Superior Court said the conservatorship is not needed and should be terminated immediately.

Spears tweeted her thanks to her fans and the #FreeBritney movement: “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen ???? #FreedBritney.”
