Listen to The Current on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for a weekend devoted to the memory of Martin Luther King Jr.

On the evening of Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 17, The Current will air “MLK Remembered” from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., hosted by Derrick Stevens. The show features inspirational music that embodies the spirit of Dr. King’s calls for change, and portions of conversations with community leaders discussing the civil rights leader’s ongoing impact.

The Current is also honoring MLK during the rest of the weekend by sharing classic songs and Musicheads Essential pieces featuring iconic Black artists from the civil rights era up to to today. All weekend hosts will highlight artists like Marvin Gaye, Billie Holliday, Lauryn Hill, Prince, OutKast, and more performing songs of protest and change.
