This week, catch up on the new music from Sylvan Esso, Caamp, Titus Andronicus, Denver’s Wildermiss and Minnesota artist Miloe. Plus, discover the sound of emerging Chicago artist Ravyn Lenae.

Sylvan Esso, “Echo Party”

The duo of Sylvan Esso have grown in the experimental dance music sound in the past few years. Their new album, No Rules Sandy, is the most experimental to date. "Echo Party" starts with glitchy, half-finished sentences, like a child's broken toy offering a last gasp when found years later. Slowly the song pulls together, and a cohesive slow jam rave begins before it slowly fractures again.

Wildermiss, “W.I.F.I.”

Denver band Wildermiss traveled to Dripping Springs, Texas, to team up with Ben Kweller and record their new music on his farm. But this is by no means a farm-fresh sort of sound. It leans more to gritty, warehouse industrial sounds, with frontwoman Emma Cole's soft vocals tempering the hard edges.

Caamp, “The Otter”

Delicate and sweet, "The Otter," the latest offering from Caamp, would be called twee if this were the early aughts. It's a charming love song, with a bit of twang and a hope that this sweetness sticks around.

Miloe, “Gaps”

As Minnesota artist Miloe explains at the start of his video, this is a song about "using music to express yourself." There's a softness with layered harmonies and gentle guitar picking to echo the sentiment of being kind to yourself.

Ravyn Lenae, “M.I.A.”

Discordant keys, a tropicalia beat, and the smooth neo-soul roll of Ravyn Lenae's vocals are a summer treat. The Chicago artist's long-awaited debut record, Hypnos, recently came out, and its futuristic sounds sound more grounded and timeless with each listen.

Titus Andronicus, “Give Me Grief”

Catch classic rock vibes (with sax and a crowd-clap moment) from New Jersey band Titus Andronicus on their new song "Give Me Guilt." Their new album, The Will To Live, will be out September 30; here’s a statement from the band: "Thematically, The Will To Live is an attempt on my part to reckon with the cruelest of life’s truths, which is that, the wider you open your heart to the good things in your life (love, hope, etc.), the more you expose yourself to life’s most harrowing pains."
