The Chart Show: Hot Chip, Whitney, and Mountain Goats debut

A close battle this week and Swedish duo First Aid Kit’s sweet harmonies fought to number 1 in the Current Chart Show with their song “Angel.” Close behind at number 3 Orville Peck’s classic country croon enters the Chart Show Hall of Fame this week after “The Curse of the Blackened Eye” spent 10 weeks on the chart. Also hitting the 10 week sweet spot is Wilco, so they’ll be joining the hall of fame. New names to the chart this week: Hot Chip, Whitney, Death Cab for Cutie, and Mountain Goats. And there’s a return to the charts from U.K. duo The Heavy Heavy at number 15 with their song “Miles and Miles.”
