Grammy-nominated Minnesotan Ondara has changed up not only his sound, but his perspective for his third album, Spanish Villager No: 3.

The Spanish Villager, according to Ondara, was formed “during some of [his] darkest times, and as [the character] came to life, he carried in his heart all the anxieties [Ondara] had about [his] journey and about this new world [he] had moved to."

With the help of frequent collaborator Mike Viola (who has worked with Jenny Lewis and Andrew Bird in the past) he’s built what he considers “one epic poem — a subconscious exploration of the world inside and outside” with visits to Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, Mexico and, of course, Minneapolis.
