For Redcar, the artist formerly known as Chris or Christine and the Queens, music is a constant evolution, a sometimes painful quest to find true expression. His latest album, Redcar Les Adorables Étoiles (translation: “Redcar The Adorable Stars”), is nearly entirely in French with ‘80s stylistic flair.

In an interview with The Guardian, Redcar is expressed as a character – like Ziggy Stardust to David Bowie, but “Redcar is me, too. It’s me right now. Broken down. Suited, demented man, questing for angels. Misunderstood.”
