New music from a bunch of heavy hitters this week — Feist, Beck, Depeche Mode, beabadoobee, and Lizzo featuring SZA — plus a new track from rising Minnesota artist D’Lourdes. Listen to all these new songs below.

Feist, “In Lightning”

Valentine's Day this year has really brought out the lovers. With a number of new songs being released, Feist had to outdo them all with a three-song drop to celebrate her new album, Multitudes (out April 14). Keeping with the “multitude” theme, the songs showcase layered vocals, choruses in rounds, and a variety of sounds. Multitudes was also the name of a series of concerts done by Feist over the past few years that were full of improvisation and experimentation.

Beck, “Thinking About You”

Beck of recent years has been full of pop and fun and colors, but his latest song could indicate a (sea) change. Yes, sounding a bit more in the vein of his Grammy-winning 2002 album, Sea Change, Beck is once again alone, heartbroken, and thinking back to better days with his new song, "Thinking About You."

Depeche Mode, “Ghosts Again”

A 15th album is on the way from Depeche Mode, their first new music since the death of keyboardist Andy Fletcher last year. The album, Momento Mori, will be full of themes of death, ghosts, and the afterlife. Their haunting "Ghosts Again" is the first song they've put out since 2017.

beabadoobee, “Glue Song”

Young love is giddy and sweet in the new single, "Glue Song," from beabadoobee. The first new music from the artist since last summer's Beatopia (and a wonderful live performance at Rock The Garden) came out on Valentine's Day and is a celebration of that first taste of new love — fresh, exciting, and untainted by bitter heartbreak.

D’Lourdes, “How Did You Get So Good?”

“How Did You Get So Good?” could almost be a rhetorical question D’Lourdes asks herself. After going viral for the snippet “fuzzy duck, ducky fuzz” from said single, the singer has released her music video for a song that is heavy on the details. With 2.4 million streams on Spotify in 2022, the artist also known as Danielle Troiano is focusing on music all the while keeping a grasp on stage acting, like her role in Theater Mu’s production of Cambodian Rock Band last year. Her latest track is a collection of tiny, broken fragments, all scraped together and melded back together as rough, but very ready shouty, fuzzy power-pop. – Youa Vang

Lizzo, “Special” feat. SZA

Lizzo just walked away with Record of The Year at the Grammys, and as a thank-you of sorts, dropped a new version of “Special,” the song she performed at the awards show. The updated song features SZA (Lizzo's good friend and an artist who has been battling it out for the No. 1 song with her own new album SOS) and some old-school horns and harmonies.
