For Caroline Polachek, love is all or nothing. She cries out in her lyrics, “You are melting everything about me,” or seductively taunts, “Welcome to my island, hope you like it, you’re never leaving.”

Her 4th album, Desire, I Want to Turn Into You, was created during the early days of the pandemic, a tumultuous time for the world; and for Polachek, full of highs and lows. She wrote it while spending time with her boyfriend in Rome and Sicily, overwhelmed with beauty and romance, while also mourning her father, who died from Covid-related complications.
