“A Case of You,” “Big Yellow Taxi”, “Both Sides Now,” … Joni Mitchell’s voice and songs have soothed heartache and been a shoulder to cry on over the years. She’s also battled more than her fair share of illness, including a brain aneurysm that put her in the hospital in 2015. 

After years of recovery to regain even the most basic skills, it was a joy-filled shock when Joni Mitchell stepped on stage at the Newport Folk Festival last summer. The surprise appearance was supplemented by guest performances from Lucius, Brandi Carlile, and Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, but this was truly a celebration of Joni.
