Matthew Houck, who records and performs as Phosphorescent, made a special appearance at a Minneapolis bike shop on Friday to debut unreleased songs.

Hosted at Angry Catfish Bicycle Shop + Coffee Bar in south Minneapolis, The Current’s latest MicroShow hosted an intimate crowd to hear a trio of new songs, as well as past favorites. Houck performed with just an electric guitar, and told stories about the songs in between.

In addition to performing the new material, other set highlights included “Song for Zula,” a cover of Raymond Byron Raposa’s “ Meridian, MS” (off 2022’s The Full Moon Project), and “Wolves.”
