The Album of the Week is Tigers Blood, the spectacular sixth release from Waxahatchee. It's the project of singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield and named after Waxahatchee Creek in Alabama, where she grew up. On Tigers Blood, Crutchfield emerges as a powerhouse and ethnologist of the self, forever dedicated to revisiting her wins and losses. She wanders from the middle stretch of a relationship to a day sleeping in, to a road trip, to a nearby lake.
