On Tuesday morning, the Library of Congress announced its 25 audio recordings named to the National Recording Registry. Each year since 2000, the Library of Congress picks 25 recordings as “audio treasures worthy of preservation for all time,” and this year’s selections span folk, jazz, classical, bluegrass, hip-hop, Latin, pop, country, rock and punk. The list includes recordings from such artists as Bill Withers, The Cars, Notorious B.I.G., Blondie, and Green Day — and it’s not limited to American music; for example, Arrival, the 1976 album from Swedish pop stars ABBA, made the list.

This year’s list really celebrates a broad range of music culture. Let’s celebrate that music.

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what music being inducted into the National Recording Registry this year would you like to year?
