Gary Clark Jr. launched the next leg of his JPEG Raw tour on Tuesday with a stop at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul. In a show featuring dazzling lighting and dramatic fog effects, Clark Jr. and his band conjured a generous setlist that featured four songs from his 2024 album JPEG RAW as well as a number of career-spanning selections alongside a few well-chosen covers. Clark Jr. flaunted his blues-soaked stylings while also showcasing the broader global influences behind the music on JPEG RAW.
Soulful Alabama singer-songwriter Lamont Landers and his band opened the show.
