The Current unveils new host lineup for evenings, weekends, and Teenage Kicks
July 07, 2025

The Current is making some exciting changes to the program schedule this summer. There’s a new voice on weekends, a familiar one moving to evenings, and another veteran of The Current taking over a popular weekend program.
Starting Monday, July 7, longtime weekend host Mac Wilson officially takes over hosting weekday evenings on The Current. Listen to Mac each weekday from 7 p.m. until midnight. The only exceptions are Wednesdays (The Message, 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and Thursdays (Transmission, 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.). Mac brings his encyclopedic knowledge to this new time slot, which will include frequent album listening parties on Thursday evenings. “In the words of Steve Nelson, The Current's original program director, ‘It's Gonna Be Great’,” said Mac.
Filling Mac’s previous time slot is The Current’s newest host Gannon, who will be on-air from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday as well as weekday overnights. A Las Vegas native, Gannon brings an extensive music journalism background to the role. What can listeners expect from Gannon during his shifts? “Enthusiasm,” he said. “I’m enthusiastic about finding new music and shameless about the fact that sometimes I find it the same time you do. Sometimes I find songs the day that I play them on air and I'm like, ‘I just heard this song. You've got to hear this.’” Learn more about Gannon here.
Finally, the new host of Teenage Kicks, Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., is Bill DeVille. “This is all the music I listened to growing up,” said Bill. “I was listening to The Clash at the same time I was hearing Johnny Cash.” Bill will host 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday and continue to host United States of Americana on Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
“The Current and our listeners are so lucky to have Mac, Bill, and Gannon on air! Their enthusiasm and music knowledge is key to sharing the variety and depth of music we play,” said Lindsay Kimball, The Current’s program director. “Listeners are going to love hanging out with these musicheads on the weeknights and weekends!”
