The Current’s Happy Hours series continued Thursday with a performance by jeremy messersmith at Surly Brewing Co. in Minneapolis. The event was well attended by music fans who braved the threat of rain. Host Zach McCormick opened the event with a DJ set of music, and then messersmith took the stage for a solo set.

In his signature fashion, messersmith charmed the audience with his trademark humor and well-crafted songs. He even assigned vocal parts to the audience and conducted the performance on “Violet,” and he got the whole crowd singing along with “Everybody Gets a Kitten.” See photos of the event below.
