Vinyl lovers' biggest and best holiday is once again upon us, as Record Store Day 2026 is set to take place on Saturday, April 18, at independent record shops across the world.
This year’s list of vinyl exclusives and limited-edition reissues is impressive and expansive, with a little something for everybody. A batch of intriguing releases with Minnesota ties will hit the shelves on Saturday, and we have spotlighted some of those titles in our rundown, along with a series of other vinyl exclusives to look for.
Here are four releases with Minnesota ties:
The Jayhawks - 2 Meter Sessions
This new release from the Twin Cities alt-country band features two never-before-released recording sessions in Amsterdam from 1997 and 2000. The first side captures the group playing Sound of Lies-era material, while the second side features performances from the Smile period. This special RSD release also includes a signed postcard featuring black-and-white photos from the sessions, and a personal note from the band members, along with access to an archival video interview with Gary Louris and Marc Perlman.
Bob Mould - Body Of Song (20th Anniversary Expanded Edition)
This exclusive celebrates the 20th anniversary of Bob Mould's sixth solo album, Body of Song, and is pressed on peach-colored vinyl. The expanded reissue also features six bonus tracks that were originally included on the two-CD deluxe version of the album, but have never been available on vinyl until now, including fan favorites “Castor and Pollux,” “Love Escalator,” and “My Old Friend.”
Sugar - File Under Easy Listening - The Singles Collection
This RSD exclusive box set serves as a companion to 2025’s RSD Black Friday four-LP singles collection for Copper Blue. This three-LP set collects the original singles from Sugar’s 1994 release, File Under: Easy Listening, including the beloved indie rock gems “Your Favorite Thing” and “Gee Angel.” The 12-inch singles all feature their original album art and are housed in a slipcase featuring a reproduction of the iconic full-length cover, with some of the tracks pressed on vinyl for the very first time.
Cory Wong - Cory Wong and The Green Screen Band
Minneapolis-based guitarist Cory Wong’s 2017 album gets released on vinyl for the very first time. The RSD exclusive is pressed on marble green and transparent blue vinyl, and the release features expanded artwork, deluxe packaging, and is specially mastered for vinyl. The songs on Green Screen Band have long been live favorites of Wong’s dedicated fanbase, and now those longtime supporters get the chance to hear that vibrant, funky material on vinyl.
Here’s a top 10 of the best of the rest:
Air - Moon Safari - The Athens Concert
French electronic duo Air are releasing their first-ever live album for Record Store Day. The songs are from a performance at the legendary Acropolis in Athens on their recent tour in support of their 1998 debut album, Moon Safari. While the recording won’t be accompanied by the spellbinding light show featured during those live performances, which hit the State Theatre in October 2024, the warmth and emotions of Air’s songs shine through.
Tony Bennett - MTV Unplugged
The late Tony Bennett won a Grammy for Album of the Year in 1995 for his celebrated MTV Unplugged performance, which gets its first-ever vinyl release for Record Store Day. The two-LP set captures the legendary New York City crooner interpreting the Great American Songbook while accompanied by the Ralph Sharon Trio, and features standout hits like "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," "Fly Me to the Moon," and “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” featuring Elvis Costello.
Jeff Buckley - Live À L'Olympia
Jeff Buckley is a first-time nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. To mark the occasion, his fan-favorite concert recording, Live À L'Olympia, is getting its debut release on vinyl. The two-LP set captures Buckley and his band performing two nights at the legendary Olympia in Paris during his 1995 European tour in support of his beloved 1994 debut album, Grace. The recording features live performances of half of those tracks, including the recent TikTok viral hit, “Lover, You Should Have Come Over,” and covers of the MC5’s “Kick Out The Jams” and his iconic take on Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”
Brandi Carlile - Live At Easy Street Records Vol II
In October 2025, Brandi Carlile returned to Seattle’s Easy Street Records to give an in-store performance to celebrate the release of her eighth studio album, Returning To Myself. This is the Washington native’s second live album, following 2007’s fan favorite recording, Live at Easy Street Records. The 11-time Grammy winner was joined for this recent set by the Hanseroth twins and SistaStrings, thrilling the packed store with a seven-song performance in the city that helped shape her career.
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Some Candy Talking EP
The Jesus and Mary Chain’s celebrated 1986 EP, Some Candy Talking, is getting its first U.S. pressing to mark its 40th anniversary. The eight-song collection is pressed by Jack White’s Third Man Records on an expanded 12-inch that features all seven tracks from the original double 7-inch U.K. edition, as well as the previously unreleased acoustic version of “Taste Of Cindy” that is only included here. The sleeve features a reproduction of the iconic original artwork with an insert featuring brand-new original artwork by Mel Butler.
Adrianne Lenker - Live At Revolution Hall
This three-LP set captures the Big Thief leader delivering a stirring 120-minute, 43-song live performance captured over the course of three intimate shows at Portland’s Revolution Hall on her Bright Future 2024 tour. Joined by a band that includes Josefin Runsteen and Nick Hakim, Lenker delivers a career-spanning setlist that features fan favorites, deep cuts, and unreleased songs. Lenker praises the recording by stating, “Here is a little lightning in a jar, a capture of the spirit of all shows I’ve ever played and ever will play.”
Bruno Mars - Collaborations
Bruno Mars is the official 2026 Record Story Day Ambassador, and to celebrate that distinction, the 16-time Grammy winner is releasing a special compilation featuring his chart-topping collaborations with some of the biggest pop stars in the world. This includes the smash hits “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson, “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga, “APT.” with BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ, along with Mars’ celebrated collaborations with Lil Wayne, Cardi B, Gucci Mane, Kodak Black, and Anderson .Paak.
Pavement - Perfect Sound Forever
Pavement’s beloved 1991 EP, Perfect Sound Forever, is getting its first-ever vinyl reissue for Record Store Day, pressed on white 10-inch vinyl. The seven-track collection features early ramshackle gems from the slacker kings of indie rock, including “Heckler Spray,” “From Now On,” and “Debris Slide,” which is still a highlight of Pavement’s current live shows.
Taylor Swift - “Elizabeth Taylor” 7-Inch single
Taylor Swift has yet another highly collectible vinyl exclusive with a seven-inch single of “Elizabeth Taylor,” pressed on ‘Cry My Eyes Violet’ glitter vinyl. The track is the third single lifted from Swift’s record-setting 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl, and this release will also include the “So Glamorous Cabaret Version” of the hit song on the B-side, as well as collectible cover artwork.
Weezer - 1192
Weezer founding member and original bassist Matt Sharp recently discovered a multi-track reel of analog tape featuring the band’s very first studio sessions, which he has compiled for an exclusive RSD release, 1192, named after the month and date of the recordings. The 10-song collection features raw, early takes on standout hits from Weezer’s five-times-platinum 1994 debut album, “Say It Ain’t So” and “Undone (The Sweater Song),” with Sharp and legendary music producer Joe Chicarrelli mixing the project from tape to vinyl in a 100% analog process.
