'Spirit To The Sea' -- the latest album from Trout Steak Revival -- came out in late 2017, but the band members are not sitting around on the success of that record. They've already recorded a handful of songs to put on a future release. In fact, when Trout Steak Revival stopped into the Radio Heartland studio, they started the session with a brand-new song. John Louis performs live at Radio Heartland


John Louis's songwriting is reminiscent of Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Townes Van Zandt. Van Zandt was a personal hero of John's, so John's new live album is very loosely based on a live record Townes recorded back in 1977. John Louis recently stopped at Radio Heartland to perform some songs from the new album.
