On Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen — “the Boss” of the E Street Band — turns 75 years old. The Current is celebrating with The 75 Essential Bruce Springsteen Songs countdown on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 1 p.m.-7 p.m. Central. 

The Current celebrated the greatest groups in music history with the 893 Essential Bands countdown during Minnesota Public Radio's Spring Member Drive. You voted, we tallied, and now you can find out where your favorite bands landed.

We identified 64 of the best albums of 1994 to go head-to-head to determine the top record of the year. Between Monday, March 18, and Thursday, March 21, we played songs on-air as part of each daily matchup.
