Twin Cities indie group Yam Haus announced on social media last Thursday that after nine years, they are going on an indefinite hiatus. A statement the group posted on social media said in part, “We are beyond grateful for everyone that’s been a part of our journey, y’all are the reason we get to wake up every day and do what we love.” The group concluded by saying “From the bottom of our hearts, thanks for everything.” No reason was given for the hiatus… Yam Haus was formed in 2017 by Lars Pruitt, Jake Felstow, and Zach Beinlich. The group recently played at the Minnesota Yacht Club festival.
Kacey Musgraves Cancels Three ‘Middle of Nowhere’ Tour Dates (Billboard)
Kacey Musgraves has cancelled three dates of her ‘Middle of Nowhere’ tour - including the opening performance. The canceled shows include Aug. 20 at United Center in Chicago, Aug. 29 at TD Garden in Boston, and Sept. 2 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. No reason has been given for the cancellations either by statement or social media, and Musgraves has not addressed the changes. The Chicago and Boston shows were added to the lineup due to demand after the release of Musgraves original schedule. As of now, it still looks like the tour is scheduled to begin in Chicago on Aug. 21. Kacey Musgraves’ new album, ‘Middle of Nowhere’ was released on May 1.
Bon Iver Plays Full Bob Dylan Covers Set as Bon Dylan at Eaux Claires Festival (Consequence)
The Eaux Claires festival was last weekend in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and that means that we finally got to hear what Bon Dylan sounds like. Justin Vernon from Bon Iver covered multiple eras of Dylan during his set, starting with the 1997 song “Not Dark Yet” before going into 1989’s “Shooting Star.” We’ve got a clip of the set… here is Bon Dylan doing ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright’ courtesy of Live Music MN. Orville Peck Announces New Album Mule, 2026 North American Fall Tour (Consequence)
Orville Peck has announced a new record and a tour to go with it. The new album is called, Mule, and according to a release, it explores Peck’s struggle with addiction, pursuit of sobriety, and rebuilding himself “with unflinching honesty, humor, and compassion.” Mule is set for release on September 18th. The tour will stop at the Armory on Tuesday, November 3rd.
Joy Oladokun Announces New Album Hope Is a Heavy Thing, Unveils “Kind”: Stream (Consequence)
Joy Oladokun has announced a new record called, Hope is a Heavy Thing. Oladokun said in a statement, that “‘To understand your future you have to confront your past.’ This is the driving theme behind Hope Is a Heavy Thing,” The new album will be out September 25.
Hole Reissuing Classic Albums on Vinyl (Pitchfork)
Hole is reissuing their first three albums on vinyl. Pretty on the Inside, Live Through This, and Celebrity Skin will be available on wax on September 18.
