Minnesota State Fair 2026: Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis announce ‘homecoming’ grandstand show (KMSP)

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are headed back home for a show at the State Fair Grandstand. The "Homecoming: A Celebration of the Minneapolis Sound" concert will be on Saturday, August 29th and features a stellar lineup like guests including Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant (Tres-Vant), Morris Day & Jerome Benton, and more. Tickets are on sale now.

Muna Announce 2026 Tour (Pitchfork)

Muna has announced a tour in support of their new record, Dancing on the Wall, and they’re headed this way! The Gets So Hot Tour will stop at The Palace on October 11.

The Psychedelic Furs cancel upcoming North American tours due to “serious medical issue” (NME)

The Psychedelic Furs were scheduled to play at First Avenue tomorrow night, but the band has cancelled it’s North American tour citing a serious medical issue. The group did not specify what the issue is, but they did offer apologies to fans on social media.

Beastie Boys’ Mike D shares infectious solo debut ‘Switch Up’ (NME)

Mike D from the Beastie Boys has released his debut solo single. It’s a song called, “Switch Up,” and it’s also the first new music from any member of the Beastie Boys since the album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two came out in 2011. Mike D also announced a handful of solo shows after making a surprise appearance on stage with his sons Davis and Skyler’s band, Very Nice Person, last month. Mike D performed two show in California over the weekend, and has one scheduled in Brooklyn later this month. No word on a new album, yet, but we’ll keep our eye on it.

Caroline Rose New Song

Caroline Rose is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer out of Austin, who is gearing up to tour with Modest Mouse in the fall. Their new song is called “Yip Yip Yow” and it comes out tomorrow, but you have a chance to hear it early! It’s a brand new song debut from Caroline Rose — just for Public Radio listeners — on The Current.
