This week I’ve got new local sounds from Collapsing Stars and Samuel Wilbur, plus new music from Courtney Marie Andrews, John Fullbright, and Cassandra Lewis. Plus, something old but something new from Willie Nelson!

On this USofA I featured new songs from Freedy Johnston, Amanda Shires, Charley Crockett, Seth Avett and others. We also remembered Gram Parsons. He would have turned 76 yesterday.

On this Spooktacular weekend I featured a handful of songs for Halloween. I also played a couple new ones from Trampled By Turtles. Their new Alpenglow album was released last Friday.

On this episode of United states of Americana we remember rockabilly artist Robert Gordon, who passed away this past Tuesday. I featured Dwight Yoakam, who turns 66 today. Happy Birthday Dwight! Plus, I played a handful of choice “cover” songs.

I featured a bunch of new music on this USofA. We heard artists like Sunny Sweeney, Tyler Childers, Melissa Carper & Dylan Hicks. I also played a couple of songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, who broke up this time 50 years ago.

This time we remember Loretta Lynn, who passed away this past Tuesday at age 90. She left an amazing body of work. Hour number 2 features nothing but Loretta. The first hour features new tunes from Tyler Childers, The War & Treaty and Nikki Lane.

On this USofA I featured a couple of new songs from the late Dr. John. It’s an album that he started and never was able to finish. He suffered a heart attack and died 3 years ago. His daughter stepped in helped with the finishing touches. I also played songs from Sunny Sweeney, Sweet Megg and a new song from Neil Young and Crazy Horse.

This time on United States of Americana I featured a bunch of the winners at the Americana Awards and Honors which were held at the Ryman in Nashville a little over a week ago. We heard tunes from Allison Russell, Brandi Carlile, Chris Isaak, Sierra Ferrell and more. We also debuted new songs from The Cactus Blossoms and Margo Price

This week on the show, I spotlight some iconic duos in Americana music as well as some new and emerging ones.

On this United States of Americana I played new songs from local artists like Jim Walsh and Dylan Hicks. I also featured new music Dead Horses, Allison Russell featuring Brandi Carlile & Sierra Ferrell. I also played a song by Elvis Perkins, which was inspired by 9/11. His mother was aboard one of the planes that crashed into Twin Towers on that tragic day.
