On this United States of Americana I played new songs from Parker Millsap, Brit Taylor and a couple from Margo Price, who performs tonight at First Avenue in Minneapolis. I also featured a handful of tunes to celebrate Mardi Gras!

It was an action packed USofA this time. I featured new music, love songs, supergroups and Grammy winners, including a special tribute to Bonnie Raitt who won the “Song of the Year” award.

This time I featured a session with Nikki Lane recorded back in December. We had a nice chat. She also performed a couple songs from her Denim and Diamonds album. We also checked out new songs from Trapper Schoepp, Drayton Farley and Juniper.

Nikki Lane’s latest album, ‘Denim & Diamonds,’ released in September 2022. While on the first leg of the tour in support of that album, Lane stopped at The Current studio to play songs and to visit with Bill DeVille about the origins of her songs and the making of the new album.

This USofA featured new songs from Dom Flemons of Carolina Chocolate Drops fame, The Shootouts, Lucero, Larkin Poe and Turn Turn Turn. We also gave the nod to Lucinda Williams, who hit 70 years of age the other day. Happy belated, Lucinda!

On this United States of Americana we paid tribute to David Crosby. He died late last week. David was a longtime member of The Byrds and later Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. We also checked out music from Whitehorse, Cassandra Lewis and a couple from Margo Price, who’s new album dropped on Friday and is The Current’s Album of the Week.

On this USofA I played some of my favorites and some of the songs you heard a bunch in 2022. Artists like Erin Rae, Angel Olson, Ian Noe, Nikki Lane, Becky Kapell & Paul Cauthen.

This time on United States of Americana I featured nothing but Holiday songs new and old! We checked out classic from Johnny & June, George & Tammy. I played newbies from Indigo Girls, Jamestown Revival and Old Crow Medicine Show.

On this United States of Americana I featured new sounds from Marty Stuart, local artists like Kelley Smith and Detroit transplants The Walking Beat. We also featured a session with Charley Crockett’s, who dropped by a couple weeks ago prior to his First Avenue show.
