Hippo Campus/Bad Bad Hats
Hippo Campus and Bad Bad Hats set the bar high for locals when it comes to breaking Chart Show records

The local contingent on the chart are breaking records again this week as four of the top five call Minnesota home. (Can't we make Courtney an honorary Minnesotan?!) The top two are playing a sold out show at First Avenue this weekend.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win passes to a private show at Icehouse featuring a five-song acoustic set with Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie on Friday, Dec. 5!

On Dec. 11, No.4 Lizzo drops her new album Big GRRRL Small World. Her posse GRRRL PRTY open a show at First Avenue that night with P.O.S. and Mixed Blood Majority (who will be guests on The Local Show on Dec. 6).

Locals Low, meanwhile, are taking a break from their busy world tour until January when they have two Alaska dates booked!

Another sold out show at First Avenue features No.7 act, the Arcs, on Dec. 1. For Record Store Day's Black Friday they are releasing an exclusive EP, The Arcs vs. the Inventors Vol. I.

The fifth and final local entry this week, Atmosphere, climb seven places to No.10 as they prepare for Rhymesayers' big celebration at the Target Center on Dec 4. Sean McPherson hosted a special edition of The Local Show last weekend to celebrate the record label's
20 year history (you can listen to the archive here).

Wolf Alice moved up five places on the chart but lost out to Benjamin Clementine for the Mercury Music Prize last week. Benjamin spent time early in his career working in Paris so he dedicated his win to the victims of the Dec. 13 attacks.

CHVRCHES are a new entry this week and as they tour the U.K. Lauren Mayberry and the band have revealed plans to go their separate ways ... eventually.

Wonder if Florence will ever go without her Machine? They are back on the chart in the basement position this week. At the weekend they ended their New Zealand tour in grand style: in pouring rain! They'll certainly be able to dry out this weekend when they play the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi?!?
