Following the tragic assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1968, there was widespread turmoil throughout the nation's urban centers. On the night of April 5th, James Brown brought the city of Boston together and kept the riots at bay. But it wasn't easy.

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, due to wrap up his third and final term at the end of this year, has become a widely beloved figure. When he stopped by The Current studio to take over our airwaves, it wasn't the first time he's shown love to the station, but it was perhaps the most fun and in-depth opportunity we've had to get him involved in what we do here at The Current
