The Local Show for July 4, 2010
July 04, 2010
On this week's episode, Chris Riemenschneider, the music columnist for the Star Tribune and vita.mn, stopped by to chat about his annual article profiling the Best Local Albums Of The Year (so far). Chris spun tracks from 9 of his favorites and offered preview songs from Cloud Cult and Charlie Parr's upcoming records, two albums that we think will be making a big impact in the next six months. In the second hour, local legends "Spider" John Koerner and Tony Glover dropped by to perform a few songs and talk about the release of two new Koerner albums on the Nero's Neptune label -- a live recording from 1963 and the classic "Music is Just a Bunch of Notes." All of that plus music from the Flamin' Ohs, Bight Club, Phantom Tails, Tape n' Tapes and more.
