The Local Show Matt Mithun and Dead Man Winter
August 14, 2011
This week on The Local Show we'll meet Matt Mithun - the producer and promoter of the SoundTown Music festival taking place in Somerset, WI on Friday and Sat. August 19th and 20th. Bands like The Flaming Lips and The New Pornographers are side by side on a bill flush with all of your favorite local talent. Matt will give us the inside scoop on what to expect at SoundTown and why having so many locals on the bill is a moral imperative.
In hour two, the band Dead Man Winter will be dropping by The Current studios to perform songs from their new album Bright Lights and to chat about their upcoming tour of Alaska and their big show at First Ave. on Sept. 16th.
Plus we'll hear music from Mally, Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lappelles, Curtis A, Jeremy Messersmith and Rogue Valley as well as new music from The Tisdales and a song from the forthcoming Tommy Stinson record One Man Mutiny
