Bob Marley's 'Exodus'
June 02, 2018
This week back in 1977, it wasn't all punk rock and new wave, and it wasn't all Debbie Boone, ABBA and the Eagles, either. This week in '77, a record that TIME magazine called the best album of the 20th century was released: it was "Exodus" by Bob Marley and the Wailers. Recorded in England in early '77 as Marley was just starting to achieve worldwide fame, "Exodus" was written in the months following an assassination attempt on his life in which both he and Rita, his wife, were shot but survived. Some of the songs are political, but some are among the best love songs of all time. Bob Marley, "Exodus," our featured album this week on Teenage Kicks.
