The Local Show
August 12, 2018
On the one-year anniversary of the deadly clashes between white supremacists and counter-protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, two Twin Cities music icons have teamed up to release a moving new song about dismantling racism in America. On Sunday night we'll listen together to "I Ain't Gonna Whistle Dixie No More," written by Paul Metsa and sung by the award-winning blues and R&B artist Wee Willie Walker, with support from gospel group Sounds of Blackness Fan Page.
We'll also check out brand-new tunes from Bad Bad Hats, Gully Boys, The Bad Man, Glow Mechanics, Doug Collins, Chadwick Niles Phillips, and Kara Laudon, a talented vocalist known for her work with John Mark Nelson and Dessa who is stepping into the spotlight with an entrancing new solo song.
