Minneapolis trio Bad Bad Hats just released a delightfully catchy new album, Lightning Round, and celebrated with a big show last night in the First Avenue & 7th St Entry Mainroom. They'll cap off the weekend by visiting the Current studios tonight to perform and chat with Andrea Swensson about their new lineup and their shared love of sharply crafted pop hooks.

You'll also get an in-depth preview of all the local artists playing this year's Minnesota State Fair, which opens on Thursday, August 23 and runs through Labor Day. In addition to Trampled by Turtles' big Music on a Stick show in the State Fairgrounds Grandstand, we'll highlight all the free music you can see throughout the fairgrounds from artists like Chastity Brown, Har Mar Superstar, and Annie Mack Music.
