This week on Teenage Kicks - The Boomtown Rats - have ever been featured on Teenage Kicks ... the Boomtown Rats were an underrated band - combining elements of punk with Van Morrison or Bruce Springsteen's vivid lyrical imagery. Lead singer Bob Geldof would go on to co-create Band Aid and Live Aid, raising millions to fight hunger in Africa, but the Irish singer songwriter got his start with the Rats - one of Ireland's first punk bands. We'll dig back to their late '70s heyday as Bob celebrates his 67th birthday this week.
