Teenage Kicks®
Gary Numan
March 09, 2019
This week for Teenage Kicks, we celebrate the birthday of Gary Numan, who started a punk but quickly embraced the Moog synth and who scored his biggest hits during 1979 with three U.K. No. 1 albums: "Replicas," "The Pleasure Principle" and "Telekon."
Before quitting his day job, Gary Numan drove a forklift, was a bookkeeper, an air conditioning ventilator fitter, and later flew planes as a rockstar hobby, but it's from his music that he would go on to influence generations of artists - with Trent Rezner, Foo Fighters, and Marilyn Manson among the artists who have covered his songs.
