Mark Wheat is hosting Teenage Kicks this weekend, and he's celebrating two of his favorite artists who both had birthdays this week: Brian Eno and David Byrne. Back in 1977, Brian Eno went to see the Ramones, and the opening band were Talking Heads. After the show, Eno invited David Byrne to listen to records the next day. One of the records they listened to was by Fela Kuti, and they went on to be inspired by the African beats of that music; their birthdays are within a day of each other, so we'll celebrate David Byrne and Brian Eno. We'll also have birthday celebrations for Wreckless Eric, Grace Jones an Dusty Hill, and we'll even have a musical version of England's FA Cup Final.
