This week for Teenage Kicks, we feature The Sundays, whose Harriet Wheeler has a birthday Saturday. The story of the Sundays begins in 1988, when Wheeler and guitarist David Gavurin met, fell in love, and started making music together. After three well-received albums in the '90s, the couple stopped touring or putting out music, and focused on raising their young family. They've never looked back — or released anything since 1997. Hazy dream pop pioneers, we wish a happy birthday to Harriet Wheeler and the glorious shimmer of the Sundays.
