We’re in the Time Machine this Thanksgiving Weekend, and that includes Teenage Kicks – where we’ll celebrate with music from the years 1981 and 1986. 1981 saw the further flowering of post-punk taking new music in multiple directions in the U.K., with artists like Depeche Mode, New Order and The Psychedelic Furs emerging, while in America there were debuts from R.E.M., The Replacements, and Los Angeles's chart-topping the Go Go's. By 1986, college radio had grown the scene, and new artists included Beastie Boys, Crowded House, Pet Shop Boys, and The Bangles. Teenage Kicks covers two classic years for Time Machine Weekend.
