The Time Machine stops in 1977 this time. The punk rock and new wave explosion was underway with debuts from The Clash and Elvis Costello. There were phenomena like Saturday Night Fever and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours. The world mourned the loss of Elvis Presley, and a plane carrying the band Lynrd Skynrd crashed, killing the band’s lead singer, Ronnie Van Zandt, and others. It’s all 1977, our year on this episode of Time Machine.
